Wow. It's been quite some time since we went on a vacation, since the birth of Jonathan was our vacation last year. As he is now a happy and cheerful one year old, we are more than ready to go on an adventure. However, with a family of five, one of whom is very young, we are keeping our vacation plans much simpler than in the past. That means we aren't going very far, and we are going to spend most of our time visiting (and staying with) our family and friends in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Our plan is to head to Calgary tomorrow, where we will visit the LEGO Store, Calaway Park and the zoo. After a few days in Calgary, we are going to head into the mountains and visit the Columbia Icefields before arriving in Edmonton. After some fun and visiting in Edmonton, we will head to Sandra's sister's house in Loon Lake for a few days at the lake and finally we will arrive at Sandra's parent's house in Turtleford, where there are rumours of a summer curling bonspiel.
I'm hopeful that the wonderfully warm weather of the past couple of days will follow us throughout our vacation, as May was extremely wet, which has left me waiting impatiently for warmth. If I can end this vacation at a point where I am complaining about the heat, I will be very happy.
